Oldies Mixbag 11/18 Tracklist
Hey, loyal listeners, here's what you (might have) missed today on the Oldies Mixbag:
Of course, we started out with The Chantays and "Pipeline", which serves as teh show's theme song. After that...(these are not in order, as I dropped the CDs, which I'd placed very carefully so they'd stay in order, and they scattered. D'oh!! But, to the best of my memory...) we heard the Mamas & the Papas' "I Saw Her Again Last Night", followed by Archie Bell & the Drells' "Tighten Up," which was followed by a parody, "Loosen Up" by The Nazz. Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" came after that. Then I gabbed for a few minutes and gave out the studio's request line (which is 1-925-424-1220...hint hint...)
I then played Santana's "Smooth", from his Supernatural album, and Barry White came after that, with "Babe, What Am I Gonna Do With You?" The Four Tops was in the mix, with "The Same Old Song", which was, as I said, a rehashed version of "Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch"...still good, though (if not better, in fact...)
On a personal note, I had a "Hard Day's Night" the other night, so to commemorate that, I played (you guessed it,) "A Hard Day's Night" by the Beatles. I briefly stepped outside the bounds of my genre (sort of), and played an a capella version of the Beatles' Eleanor Rigby, sung by the King's Singers.
...and that's pretty much it. I talked a bit about something near and dear to me, the Dead Parrot Sketch from Monty Python. According to Reuters, the ancient Greeks wrote a joke with basically the same premise, substituting a slave for a parrot, however. I thought it was really funny that they'd find this out, so I had to mention it....
Anyway, stay tuned to RadioLasPositas.com, and give us a call at 925-424-1220. Alternatively, you can email me at djidj.rlpc@gmail.com.

Oldies Mixbag 11/11 Tracklist...(a little late...)
Heyllo faithful listeners,
Here's what you (may have) missed on my show the other day - incidentally, there were some user-oriented technical errors for a few minutes, so...apologies...
On to the music!
Opening Theme (as always,): Pipeline - The Chantays
Sky Pilot - Eric Burdon & the Animals
Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen
5 O'Clock World - The Vogues
Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor on the Bedpost Overnight? - Lonnie Donegan
Touch of Grey - Grateful Dead
Catch the Wind - Donovan
Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme - Simon & Garfunkel
Same Old Song - Four Tops
Lover's Theme - Barry White Orchestra
You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
I also had a stopset where I discussed the recent US Presidential election, and I used Hail to the Chief behind my voice there.
Tune in this Tuesday - I've got big plans...and as always, that means surprises! (And I'll have the track list up much sooner this week...life is what happens while you're busy making other plans, as John Lennon said...)
